Davy De Smedt (born 27 August 1978 in Mechelen) is a Belgian football midfielder who currently plays for K Rupel Boom FC.

He plays as a defensive midfielder and is a free kick specialist.

Career

Before his time with K Rupel Boom FC, Davy De Smedt played for FC Merchtem in Fourth Division, for Eendracht Hekelgem in Belgian Second Division and for K. Londerzeel S.K. in Fourth Division and Belgian Third Division.[1]

Since 2008 Davy De Smedt is a player for K Rupel Boom FC. With this club he achieved promotion to the Belgian Second Division in 2010.

On October 26, 2011 he played against RSC Anderlecht for the Belgian Cup. Davy scored the opening goal in what proved to be an unforgettable evening as Third Division side K. Rupel Boom FC knocked out RSC Anderlecht.
